When I was about 8yrs old, I wanted to dress up as a Ghostbuster for halloween. I thought that the brown jumpsuit with the huge lit up proton pack would be sooooo cool. I'd be the hit.

Well, we ended up buying this crappy orange and white plastic outfit from Walmart. It was from the Ghostbusters cartoon (old one, not the Real Ghostbusters) and my mom made me a proton pack out of a Cherios box and tinfoil. You can just see me pounding my head on the floor.

I became really upset at the way it turned out. It looked nothing like what the actors in the movie wore. I did go trick-or-treating anyway, but I hated having to explain at every house what I was supposed to be.

Ever since that time, I've pursued accurate or at least decent looking costumes. It has taken a lot of lessons and often involves a considerate amount of money, but having people recognize the costume and feeling like I am part of something I enjoy is the reward. Sometimes I even get commercial projects or photoshoots out of it. That is a wonderful compliment!

At this point in time, I am able to sew my own projects and I'm delving into creating armor. I also do my own make-up work unless someone is nice enough to volunteer for me.

I continue to have projects on hand, not displayed here. Something on hold is usually a result of finances or being unable to find/construct a certain part at the moment. I'm a perfectionist, so if I can't do it the way I want, I won't substitute anything until I get it the way I want it.

Please note that I do not do commission work. The time and materials involved in making a costume would make it far too expensive for me to do it reasonably. I also have a full time job.
